East Moriches native Nicoleta Anestiadi is taking the next step toward a career in tennis coaching after being selected as one of just 30 participants nationwide for the USTA Coaching Serving All: Aspiring Coaches powered by WeCOACH program.

The prestigious initiative, created by USTA Coaching and WeCOACH, is designed to help collegiate women tennis players transition into the coaching profession while creating more opportunities for women to lead the sport. Participants receive practical coaching tools, leadership training, professional mentorship and networking opportunities to help launch their coaching careers.

Originally born in Girona, Spain, Anestiadi has built an impressive tennis résumé through more than a decade of competitive playing and coaching experience. She began competing in tournaments at the age of eight and has developed a reputation for her resilience, leadership and passion for the game.

Now pursuing a master's degree at Georgia Gwinnett College, Anestiadi is working toward her goal of becoming an assistant collegiate tennis coach. Drawing on her experience as an international player, she hopes to help future student-athletes develop both on and off the court.

As part of the program, Anestiadi will participate in a five-session virtual curriculum before attending a leadership summit at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. The experience is designed to provide aspiring coaches with the education, resources and professional network needed to build successful careers in tennis coaching.

In addition, she will receive a complimentary WeCOACH membership, giving her access to ongoing leadership development, educational programming and professional resources.

"Creating meaningful pathways for women to enter and thrive in coaching starts with supporting those who are eager to lead," said Megan Rose, Managing Director of USTA Coaching. "Together with WeCOACH, we are proud to provide the resources, education and support to help them take the next step in their coaching journeys."

For Anestiadi, the selection is a well-earned honor and an exciting opportunity to continue growing in the sport she loves while inspiring the next generation of tennis players and coaches.
