Eduardo Rodríguez was a high-profile signing by the Arizona Diamondbacks a few years ago, and while he hasn't quite lived up to the expectations that came with his contract, his numbers this season have been outstanding. Sometimes bettors get caught up in reputation instead of production, and that's creating value here.

Rodríguez enters this start with eight wins and a sparkling 2.39 ERA. He also heads into the game with confidence after tossing a perfect inning in the All-Star Game. More importantly for this wager, he has become one of the most reliable pitchers in baseball when it comes to working deep into games.

This isn't just about pitching well—it's about staying on the mound. Rodríguez has recorded at least six full innings in eight of his last nine starts and nine of his last 11. That's exactly the consistency we're looking for when betting the outs market.

Even the lone recent exception deserves an asterisk. Rodríguez allowed just one earned run before being lifted early due to heat concerns, not because he was struggling. If not for the weather, there's a strong chance he clears this number with room to spare.

Arizona has shown a willingness to let Rodríguez work through lineups multiple times, and he's rewarded that trust by keeping his pitch count manageable and consistently giving the bullpen a lighter workload. That's a valuable trait for bettors targeting pitcher outs.

The public often gravitates toward strikeout props because they're flashy, but the outs market can offer much better value when a pitcher has established a pattern like Rodríguez has. He's been efficient, he's been durable, and the Diamondbacks have every reason to continue leaning on him.

I'll gladly back that trend to continue.

The play: Eduardo Rodríguez Over 17 1/2 Outs Recorded. He's consistently pitching into the sixth inning, and all signs point to another quality, efficient outing tonight.
