Rocky Point Alumni Reach the Top

The Rocky Point community has plenty to celebrate as two former Eagles helped their collegiate programs capture NCAA National Championships this past season, continuing a proud tradition of athletic excellence beyond high school.

Jenika Cuocco, a member of the Rocky Point High School Class of 2021, earned a Division I Women's Lacrosse National Championship as a goalkeeper for Northwestern University. Cuocco played an important role for one of the nation's premier lacrosse programs, helping the Wildcats reach the pinnacle of collegiate competition.

Adding to an already memorable year, Cuocco recently received another exciting opportunity when she was named an assistant women's lacrosse coach at the University of Southern California (USC). The appointment marks another significant milestone in her lacrosse journey and reflects the leadership, dedication and knowledge she has developed throughout her career.

Rocky Point also celebrated the success of Grace Curtin, a member of the Class of 2023, who captured the NCAA Division II National Championship with Florida Southern College. Curtin helped the program achieve one of the highest accomplishments in college athletics, earning a national title in just her second year at the collegiate level.

The achievements of Cuocco and Curtin serve as a source of pride for the entire Rocky Point community. Both athletes developed their skills while competing for the Eagles and have continued to excel on some of the biggest stages in collegiate sports.

Their success is also a testament to the strong foundation built by Rocky Point's athletic programs, which continue to prepare student-athletes for opportunities at the next level.

The Rocky Point School District congratulated both alumni on their outstanding accomplishments and the hard work that helped make these championship seasons possible.

Winning a national championship is a dream for any athlete, and this year two Rocky Point graduates turned that dream into reality. With championship trophies in hand and bright futures ahead, Cuocco and Curtin have added another memorable chapter to Rocky Point's proud athletic history.
