The Sachem Athletic Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2026, recognizing 19 individuals whose accomplishments and contributions have helped shape the district’s proud athletic tradition.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 19, at 10 a.m. at Sachem High School North.
This year's ceremony will be the 11th induction in the Hall of Fame's history. Established in 2003, the organization honors the district's most accomplished student-athletes, coaches and community contributors while preserving the history of Sachem athletics.
The Class of 2026 also marks a milestone for Sachem High School East. At least seven members of this year's class have ties to the school, representing the largest Sachem East contingent inducted in a single class since the Hall of Fame was established.
“This is an exceptional class that represents the depth, pride and tradition of Sachem athletics,” said Chris R. Vaccaro '04, president and founder of the Sachem Alumni Association. “Each inductee has made a lasting impact through athletic achievement, leadership or service to the Sachem community.”
This year's class includes athletes from several generations of Sachem sports history. Among the honorees are Lorraine Horgan Ambrosino (Class of 1999), Barry Berger (1984), Jesse Brush (1999), Steve Casali (2013), Sean Clifford (1980), Dalton Crossan (2012), Carlos Delgado (2002), Vito DeMola (2007), Lawrence Falkman (1997), Keith Kinkaid (2007), John Manarte (2002) and Ralph Menechino (1991).
The class also includes basketball standout Meagan Doherty Murphy (2012), multi-sport athlete Jennifer Przedwiecki (Schroeder) (1993), lacrosse and field hockey athletes Cara Trombetta (2016) and Kaitlin Trombetta (2014), and Susan Pabst Whitney (1985), who competed in soccer, basketball and softball.
Rounding out the class are multisport coach Scott Dohrman and Dennis Wandle Sr., recognized for his contributions to Sachem community youth sports.
The ceremony will bring together former athletes, coaches, families and community members to celebrate the people who have helped build Sachem's athletic legacy.
