Sayville's Shane Meehan Makes History with Yastrzemski Award

Sayville High School baseball celebrated a historic milestone this season as senior catcher Shane Meehan earned the highest individual honor in Suffolk County baseball.

Meehan was named the recipient of the 58th Annual Carl Yastrzemski Award, presented each year to Suffolk County's top baseball player as voted on by the county's varsity baseball coaches.

The prestigious recognition capped an outstanding high school career and placed Meehan's name in the Sayville record books. He became the first player in Golden Flashes baseball history to receive the Carl Yastrzemski Award, a testament to the dedication, leadership, and excellence he displayed throughout his time on the diamond.
