South Country Students Shine Under the Lights

Before the school year came to a close, students from Frank P. Long Intermediate School and Verne W. Critz and Kreamer Street elementary schools in the South Country Central School District had the opportunity to showcase their musical talents on a special stage — a Long Island Ducks baseball game.

The evening gave young performers from each school the chance to entertain fans and families at the ballpark while representing their schools and community with pride. For many students, performing in front of a packed stadium created a memorable experience they will carry with them for years to come.

The festivities began before the first pitch, as third-grade students from Kreamer Street Elementary School opened the night with a special pregame performance. Their hard work and preparation were on full display as they helped set the tone for an exciting evening at the ballpark.

The Verne W. Critz chorus continued the celebration by delivering a heartfelt performance of the national anthem before the game began. The students' voices filled the stadium and provided a memorable opening moment for players and fans alike.

Later in the evening, Frank P. Long Intermediate School students took center stage during the seventh-inning stretch. The group entertained the crowd with spirited performances of “God Bless America” and the classic baseball favorite “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.”

The event highlighted the importance of music education and the opportunities it provides students to build confidence, work together, and share their talents with the community.

For the students of South Country, the night was about much more than baseball. It was a celebration of creativity, teamwork, and the pride that comes from representing their schools on a special community stage.
