Trevor Lawrence has been playing some of the best football of his career, and I like his chances of throwing at least two touchdowns against Baltimore. Since working with Liam Coen, Lawrence and the Jacksonville offense have found another gear, and this matchup sets up nicely for another productive afternoon.
Lawrence has thrown for two or more touchdowns in five of his first seven games this season, and in four of those five performances, he has thrown at least three. That's the kind of consistency I'm looking for when backing an over on passing touchdowns.
The Ravens defense has struggled mightily over the past two weeks, allowing 35 points to Cincinnati and 36 to Buffalo. More importantly for this prop, Joe Burrow threw four touchdown passes against Baltimore, while Josh Allen followed that up with two last week.
Baltimore has now surrendered 11 passing touchdowns through eight games, and opposing quarterbacks have completed 65.5% of their passes against the defense. That's an inviting matchup for Lawrence.
There are some injury questions worth watching, too. Linebacker Roquan Smith has been dealing with a foot issue, although he returned to full practice ahead of Thursday's game. Jacksonville running back Bhayshul Tuten is questionable with a foot/ankle injury and was considered a game-time decision after missing practice all week. Tuten leads the Jaguars with 673 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns, so his availability could affect how Jacksonville distributes the workload near the goal line.
Lawrence has already thrown 17 touchdown passes in seven games, averaging more than two per contest. With Jacksonville's offense rolling and Baltimore coming off back-to-back defensive disasters, I'm expecting the Jaguars to attack through the air. Give me Lawrence to find the end zone at least twice.
