Fall Festival Makes Strong Return To Rocky Point

Downtown Rocky Point was bustling again as thousands turned out for the return of the Rocky Point Fall Festival and Street Fair, marking the revival of a popular community event that had been absent since before the COVID pandemic.

The festival, organized by the Rocky Point Sound Beach Chamber of Commerce, transformed Broadway into a community gathering place from featuring local businesses, vendors, children’s activities, face painting, henna, permanent jewelry and other attractions.

“It was a successful fall festival event,” Chamber President Gary Pollakusky said. “Thousands of people came throughout the day and enjoyed being downtown and in the Rocky Point business district.”

Live music was among the highlights, with young musicians from School of Rock performing from the Brookhaven Town showmobile on Broadway throughout the event.

Pollakusky said the festival represented an important step in restoring a community tradition that had been interrupted for several years.

“It was the first Rocky Point fall festival since pre-COVID,” he said. “While it was not as large as the one previously, it certainly shows a ton of promise.”

For the chamber, events such as the fall festival are about more than providing a day of entertainment. They are designed to bring people into the downtown business district, introduce residents to local merchants and strengthen connections between businesses and the surrounding community.

“The chamber actively looks to put together events that bring patrons to the area,” Pollakusky said.

With the successful return of the festival, Pollakusky said the chamber hopes to build on the momentum by attracting additional businesses and residents to its activities.

“We look forward to businesses and community members alike participating in our chamber excitement,” he said, encouraging those interested to attend an upcoming chamber meeting.
