Patchogue-Medford Welcomes Major Upgrades to Athletic Facilities

Patchogue-Medford High School is getting ready to welcome students and athletes to a number of exciting improvements to its athletic facilities for the 2026-27 school year.

The upgrades represent a significant investment in the school’s athletic program and will provide students with new and improved spaces to compete, practice and participate in physical education classes.

Among the additions is a brand-new turf field complete with lights and stands. The school’s main field has also received new bleachers, a press box and a digital video board, giving the facility a completely updated look and providing a more modern experience for athletes and spectators.

For a school district with a strong tradition of athletics, the improvements are about much more than appearances. The new facilities will give student-athletes an opportunity to compete in a first-class environment while also providing physical education students with better spaces for their classes and activities.

Anthony Cracco, Patchogue-Medford’s Director of Physical Education, Health, Athletics and Health Services, shared his excitement about the improvements and what they mean for the school community.

“It’s a tremendous gain for the athletic department and a big gain for physical education classes,” Cracco said, adding that the improvements are also “a tremendous source of pride for the students and athletes.”

That sense of pride will likely be on display throughout the school year as teams take the field and students get the chance to use the new facilities.

The addition of lights and stands to the new turf field also creates more opportunities for the school community to come together and support its teams, while the new bleachers, press box and digital video board will enhance the experience for fans attending games.

For Patchogue-Medford, the 2026-27 school year will bring more than new classes and a new athletic schedule. Students and athletes will also have the opportunity to experience a significantly upgraded home for Pat-Med athletics.

The new facilities are ready, and now it’s time for the students and athletes to make some new memories on them.
