Sachem North Rolls Past Brentwood to Reach Semifinals

The Sachem North Flaming Arrows are moving on! Sachem North delivered a commanding performance in the opening round of the playoffs, rolling past Brentwood 48-7 to secure a spot in the Suffolk Division I semifinals.

The Flaming Arrows brought plenty of firepower on offense, while their defense made sure Brentwood had very few opportunities to get comfortable. It was a complete team effort, with several players finding their way onto the scoresheet and helping Sachem North put the game out of reach.

Quarterback Luke LaRocca had an outstanding afternoon, throwing three touchdown passes to lead the passing attack. Gavin Nuzzi was one of his favorite targets, hauling in two touchdown receptions. Nuzzi wasn't finished there, either. He also made a major impact on defense, returning a fumble recovery for a touchdown to give the Flaming Arrows another big scoring play.

Sachem North also did plenty of damage on the ground. Jevon Alfonso found the end zone twice on rushing touchdowns, while Jojo Cannone added another rushing score to keep the offense rolling. Lucas Bouchard contributed with a touchdown reception, giving LaRocca another weapon in the passing game.

The defense was equally impressive, limiting Brentwood to just seven points. Danny Ferrizz helped lead the way with an interception, giving the Flaming Arrows another important takeaway in a game where they controlled the action from start to finish.

Putting 48 points on the board while holding an opponent to just one touchdown is a pretty good recipe for playoff success. Sachem North took care of business in the quarterfinals and now advances to the semifinals, where the competition will get tougher and the stakes will be even higher. The Flaming Arrows have their sights set on another postseason victory as their championship pursuit continues.
