This Dolphin Will Make a Splash

When a defense is this bad at covering tight ends, you don't need to overthink the matchup. I'm backing Miami's Greg Dulcich to record more than 3.5 receptions against Detroit, and the numbers make this one of my favorite prop opportunities on the board.
The Lions have been an absolute disaster defending tight ends this season. Through seven games, Detroit is allowing a league-high 11.4 targets, 8.7 receptions and 97.7 receiving yards per game to the position. They're also surrendering an incredible 1.57 touchdowns per game to opposing tight ends. Those aren't just poor numbers — they're the worst marks in the NFL across the board.
Now look at Dulcich. He's coming into this matchup with at least four receptions in three consecutive games, showing that he's becoming a reliable part of Miami's passing attack. He's averaging 3.7 catches and 4.7 targets per game this season, with a strong 78.6% catch rate. That's important because we're not asking him to produce some monster performance. We simply need four catches.
The matchup is about as inviting as it gets. Detroit is giving up nearly nine receptions per game to tight ends, meaning Dulcich doesn't need to dominate the target share to get home. He just needs to continue doing what he's done over the past three weeks. With Miami likely needing to throw to keep pace with Detroit, there should be opportunities for him to work underneath and move the chains.
This is a classic case of a favorable matchup meeting a player with recent production. I'll gladly take my chances with Dulcich needing only four grabs against the NFL's most vulnerable defense against tight ends.
