The William Floyd Colonials are moving on. In a hard-fought, back-and-forth battle, William Floyd came away with a thrilling 32-27 victory over Connetquot in the opening round of the playoffs, earning a trip to the semifinals next week.

Neither team made it easy, as the two sides traded punches throughout the afternoon. But when the game was on the line, the Colonials found a way to make the plays that mattered most.

Derek Glock delivered one of the biggest performances of the day, #5 made an impact in all three phases of the game. Glock scored twice, first on the defensive side with a pick-six that gave the Colonials a major spark. He later found the end zone again on offense, hauling in an 18-yard touchdown pass from Matt Taiani. Glock also contributed on special teams, providing a strong presence as a kick returner.

Christian Hobson and Da'Vonte Medlock added touchdowns of their own, helping William Floyd keep pace in a game that featured plenty of momentum swings.

With the contest hanging in the balance late in the fourth quarter, Ryley Permenter came through with the go-ahead score, putting the Colonials in front with less than two minutes remaining. It was a clutch moment in a game where every possession mattered.

Connetquot still had an opportunity to respond, but William Floyd's defense had one more big play left. The Colonials came up with a crucial stop to protect their lead and seal the five-point victory.

Playoff football often comes down to execution in the biggest moments, and William Floyd delivered when it counted. The Colonials now turn their attention to next week's semifinal matchup as their postseason run continues.
