Trump Plans $500 Million MAGA Midterm Blitz

President Donald Trump says he is preparing to unleash hundreds of millions of dollars from his political war chest to help Republicans hold the House and Senate in November.

“I think I have like close to a billion dollars in the super PAC,” Trump said, adding that he expects to allocate “probably four or five hundred million dollars” to the midterms. “We’re going to spend a lot of money because we don’t want to lose our country.”

Trump was referring to MAGA Inc., the powerful super PAC created to support his political movement. Federal Election Commission records show the group had $403.45 million in cash on hand as of July 31 after raising more than $400 million during the current election cycle. Trump says the political resources available to his MAGA operation eclipse $1 billion.

The money could become critical as Republicans fight to retain control of Congress. Trump said he will travel for GOP candidates and direct support toward Republicans he believes can win competitive races.

“I sit down and I say, let’s do this, let’s do that,” Trump said during an Oval Office briefing. “I’m going to help a lot of the congressmen and senators that need help.”

Control of the House is particularly consequential. Democrats are preparing extensive investigations and subpoenas of the Trump administration if they regain power, while a bloc of lawmakers has pushed for impeachment proceedings after a takeover. Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries has stopped short of promising impeachment, saying Democrats have “ruled nothing in” and “ruled nothing out.”

A Democrat-controlled House could also block much of Trump’s Make America Great Again agenda, while Senate control would determine the fate of legislation, nominations and other presidential priorities.

Trump noted that some MAGA money could remain for 2028, a presidential election year, but his immediate focus is November. “I think we have a chance of doing very well in the midterms,” he said.
